A collaborative action research project, developing approaches to the analysis and use of personal outcomes data
To respond effectively, it is vital that information systems use data gathered from people accessing services and unpaid carers about the issues important to them. However, organisations are struggling to reconcile the need for detailed, contextualised information on individual experience to inform support planning and service improvement with the need to aggregate personal outcomes data to inform decision making at organisational and national levels. This project is a response to this struggle.
Between November 2013 and 2014, researchers at the Universities of Edinburgh, Strathclyde and Swansea are collaborating with 8 health and social care practice partners and national stakeholders to address this challenge using an Action Research approach with a strong Knowledge Exchange component.
